You can *almost* see the pattern on the polish in this pic... It's a pinky-purpley shimmery polish and i used a charcoal foil on it. I thought it would stand out since it's supposed be like dark silver, but i guess being a foil, it just reflects the color it's on, so it just blends in!

Base is Sinful Let Me Go and the design, using a Konad plate, is Sally Hansen Black Pearl Chrome.

Sinful San Francisco and Savvy Deep Amethyst. I used blue painters tape to section of the side i wanted purple. Painted a couple coats of green. Let dry then took off. Painted the purple in. Then used a dotting tool to make the purple dots on the green side.

This is joe and i at Mayhem fest on Saturday. And Ray in the background on the left. Mayhem comes around his birthday every year so that's always his birthday present. It was pretty toasty out. I didn't get burned too bad. But it sure was a long day! We got there about 130pm and left about 1030 pm! My feet were killing me! My feet are still recovering. But it was pretty good. He had fun. That's the important part!

I just had the most amazing vacation in Huntington Beach, California! I didn't want to come home! THIS was my view from our room:


Sigh....I miss having lox and bagels for breakfast! The hotel itself didn't have a breakfast, but because the girl who made the reservations reserved regency club rooms, we had this lounge on our floor where they did provide regency club guests with a breakfast buffet, drinks, snacks, hors d'oeurves, desserts and honor bar beer, wine and cocktails. Holy crap it was amazing!! I want to go back! We won't be able to stay HERE, but if we can stay nearby and come to this beach, that'll be super too! And we can wander into the hotel anyway from the beach. I don't know why I'd want to except to show Joe around. Although you could probably spend a good deal of time there if you look like you belong! hahaha! And sneak into the pool areas when other people are going in and out! HAHAHA!! Oh man....it was so great!

Worlds Collide

I couldn't think of a title for this. So that's the name of the album I'm listening to right now.

Things are slow going on the home front. There are still boxes piled up in every room. I want to try to have my birthday/housewarming in 3 weekends. I'm going to have to really get on it to be able to do that! Akk! How did I get so much stuff?? How in the world did it fit in our eensy weensy house before?? I really need to get rid of more stuff. I've gotten rid of some here and there, but I still need to get rid of a LOT more! How do I do that when everything I have are valuable treasures? HAHA!! Nearly. Or have some sort of sentimental value. I think I'm just going to have to take pictures of things so I can make a scrap book (HA!) and get rid of the items themselves.

It's been over a year since I was last on here! How is that possible? Although it's not from lack of trying. I've tried to log on a few times in the past few months but for some reason couldn't get my username or password correct. Today it worked! I don't know that i actually have anything to say right now. Oh holy hell of course i do! We bought a house!! moved in on the 1st! We got EVERYTHING into the house by friday the 5th. Ever since then we've been working on getting settled. It's getting closer. But there is still SO much to do! I can't find my jeans so I need to go through some clothes boxes. I've mainly been wearing sweats! I have one pair of jeans out that fit. We've pretty much gotten the house organized the way we want it. Now it's just a matter of putting things away. I also need to get rid of things. That's a big issue for me. We got out of a tiny house that was cluttered all to hell. We don't want a big cluttered house!

Who knew Wild Singles were only a buck at the Dollar Tree??  It used to cost me a few beers!!  HAHA!!  They were my Hawaiian punch packets that you add to bottled water.  There is nothing in their name that has wild in it!  not the flavor, nothing!  I don't know where they got Wild Singles from, but it cracks me up!

I was off for Veteran's Day so I stayed home and worked.  Did laundry, cleaned like crazy, did more laundry.  At some point in the afternoon I looked out back.  There was a river of water coming from the house behind the laundry room.  So I went outside and I find this crap!

This month we had 3 birthdays.  We normally do individual cakes.   But it just didn't work out that way this month.  So I made one cake.  Me and my friend here decided we ought to divide the cake according to age.  So Danny, who is 20, got the smallest chunk.  Curis got the largest (just by a little) then Jack.  It was quite amusing!

Ok, so the story behind this is last week me and one of the boys who works the front desk saw something on the roof with the security camera.  all we could see were the feet and it looked like a little dead body up there.  So he and another of the boys tried to get it last week but couldn't get on the roof.  So Tuesday when I was gone, one of them got up and retrieved the little guy.  Which we now know is a Wolfman.  So this is what I see strung up over my desk when I came in Wednesday morning.  With  the "el dan-o" signature card.  (Derived from el bart-o from the simpsons)  I decided since it's not in my way, he can stay up there indefinitely!

A Year in Photos - Day 1

I've been hearing about this for quite some time.  I'd been debating doing it and I finally decided to just do it and stop thinking about doing it!  So today is my first day.  This was taken as I was heading home on my bike ride this morning.  It was still dark out and light was just starting to seep out from behind the mountains.

Back to the land of the living!

I think I'm ready to start in with the old routine again.  As far as our workouts go.  I haven't gone since I first got sick a month ago.  So I'm starting back up today.  I went for a bike ride this morning.  Fairly easy since I still get to coughing when I exert myself too much.  So I'll just have to take it easy until I fully recover.  I decided to do the morning ride because I need extra exercise.  What I've been doing just doesn't seem to help with the weight loss.  I felt the difference in my ability to do things and whatnot, but there wasn't much weight loss.  So I'm guessing I need to do more cardio work to burn more fat.  So, bike riding in the morning should help.  So we'll see how that works out.  

Xmas shopping

We did most of our xmas shopping this weekend!!  Wow!  This was my month for my extra paycheck and another one for Joe.  He gets paid every week....lucky!  So all the months that have 5 Wednesdays he gets an extra paycheck!  So I think that's 4 months a year.   Sheesh.  So anyway, since this was my month, we decided to do our xmas shopping.  Phew!!  We nearly got everything taken care of!  There are just a few random things here and there to pick up.  But for the most part everything is done!!  So those few things we still need are absolutely no big deal!!  A friend of mine just had surgery last week so she's still all drugged up.  I found something I thought she and her family would like so I asked to make sure she didn't have it already.  I'm counting on the drugs to help her forget so it'll still be a surprise in a couple months!  HAHAHA!!   But man, it was great!  No crowds.  Everything we wanted to get they had!  We found some great sales too.  Ahhh.....it's so nice to think that it's all behind us!!  Now we just have to wrap everything!!  Soon too before we forget what we got for whom!  HAHA!!!  

Sick & Tired

Tomorrow, it will be 4 weeks since I first went to the dr. with whatever crap I've got.

It started out in my nose and I possibly had a sinus infection. They gave me some antibiotics that made me totally nauseated so in addition to the crap-like feeling I was already experiencing I felt totally pukey. That was lovely.

A week later, it hadn't gone away, and they tell you, if it doesn't go away, come back. So on a Sunday, off I go to Urgent Care again. Oh, I had started coughing junk up at this point. So they took a chest x-ray just in case cuz the dr. who saw me said quite a few people had come in with pneumonia. No pneumonia for me. Bronchitis. So he gives me a stronger antibiotic. The 5 day zpack. Take that. Nothing really happens.

A week after that, on Monday, I go to the dr. again. Hmm...what could it be? I got some stronger cough medicine since that was still much of my problem. Again, not really doing much for me.

Another week passes, this past Tuesday I go to the dr. again. This one goes over all my past visits. Does a peak flow meter thing to check my lung output. That's fine. Does a strep test since by this time my throat is killing me. He decides that it can't be the same infection because a viral infection shouldn't last this long. There was also no reason for me to have had antibiotics when they said it was bronchitis since it's a virus. But since the antibiotics didn't do anything for that and didn't prevent anything further, it has to be 2 viruses I got. Back to back. Fun stuff. So, he pretty much said that the second one should be nearly done. He gave me more cough medicine since that is still my major issue. (I wonder if they are going to red flag me in the narcotics notebook at the pharmacy???) He pretty much just said to wait it out. Nothing we can do but help alleviate the symptoms. Sigh....hack....sigh...

Oh! I forgot, the most amazingly horrible thing happened yesterday! My throat is still hurting. I discovered the other day that blowing my nose kills my throat!! Yesterday I found out that sneezing makes my throat feel like it's exploding!!!! I swear I thought i was gonna die. It was one of the most painful things I've ever felt. Horrible horrible!

The Terrible Tweens

Nothing much really has been going on. Same ol same ol. Except the kid is starting to act like more of a teenager now.  In the midst of acting like a little kid of course!  It's just a bizarre time.   One night we were watching a movie that was PG-13.  I don't remember what it was, but it did have some adult themes and was a grown uppish sort of movie.  It wasn't so bad that we felt she couldn't watch it.  But she was holding her teddy bear throughout it.  Just that made me feel like we shouldn't be watching it.  Her sitting there like a little kid clutching her teddy, I felt we should have been watching Cinderella or something.  It was odd.  

And now she has a "boyfriend" at school.  That's not so bad.  She even asked if she could.  Joe & I talked about it and we had boyfriends and girlfriends in school that were just at school.  You just went around at school holding hands or whatever and that was pretty much it.  And the schools these days have "touching" policies where you can't (or aren't supposed to) have PDA.  But no one is watching 100% of the time.  But still, we didn't think that was so bad.  We were also hoping that having a boyfriend would help her with her hygiene that we've been having trouble getting her to care about.  I.E. wiping food off her face after she eats, having food in her teeth hours after she ate something....she's been bad about that.  She *may* have gotten slightly better about that.  Slightly. 

The joys of homeownership!

So....our bathroom is moldy. Tiles falling off. The whole bit. Easter Sunday night we started pulling tile off. Wow! the wall sure was disintegrated behind there! There was a leak back there before that we had fixed that probably did that. This time i think it was just a leak coming from the tub spigot thing. the water backs up in there and then water seeps out on the tile side of it. So that was making the tiles fall off. Then the wall under the window was wet and moldy. so we're guessing (hoping) that it's just leaking aroung the window and getting back there. there is a leak in the roof that leaks into the kid's room. so we're hoping that it's not a roof leak that has dripped into the wall there making it wet. we're going to replace the window in there to a better quality one. then put in those big panels as the walls there for the tub surround. i hope we'll be able to go find a window this weekend and have it installed next week then finish up the surround (as long as it's in stock and doesn't have to be ordered) the weekend after that. Sigh....this is fun.

Stupid Boss!!

Wait sorry, that was redundant...

I came in late today, which is a whole other blog in itself.... I just start getting settled in. Talk to my friend/coworker here about what's going on at home. Then I go to my office to start working. After a bit my boss comes in and told me he just emailed me the insurance for a team that he's been talking to and he told them that they could use Graves park on Tues, Thurs and Fri.
I said: WHAT? I'm already giving it to a team that I've been talking to on Fridays. And we can't schedule anything on it on Tues & Thurs!
SB: Yes we can, there isn't any soccer there on T&Th. Well, you go ahead and give it to them on Fridays. But I was going to give it to this guy I was talking to. Remember, I talked to him first.
Me: What? When were you talking to him?
SB: Remember last week when I came in and asked you who is at Graves?
ME: Yeah but you didn't say why, you just said you needed to see who was there!
SB: No, i told you that I was going to put this team there.
ME: No...you didn't!
SB: Yes I did you just don't remember. I asked you who is at graves and i told you I needed to see when it was free so I could put this team there.
Me: UGGGG!!!!
SB: So go ahead and put them there T&Th, there's no soccer there.
Me: AARRGGG!!!!
Co-worker: Why were you scheduling a field anyway? Just let Alyssa do her job and this sort of thing won't happen!
SB: Well i've been talking to him forever so I just did it for him.
CW: But that is Alyssa's job! You should have told him to talk to her.
SB: Oh well, I did it for him. I've known him forever.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I was so tempted at that very moment to call up my guy and tell him, you've got the park all three days you want! tues, thurs And friday! but that soooo would not have been a good idea. i'd get Serious hell from SB and he'd be seriously pissed and i don't even know what. But i totally wanted to throttle the living crap out of him!!

What a Loser!

That'd be me! I've been exercising (off and on...mostly off...) and eating better for the past 5 or 6 weeks. On Fridays, I've been weighing in. As of last Friday, March 7, I've lost 9lbs. I even measured myself the first week. So I decided to measure myself Friday morning, just to see...I've lost an INCH off of my waist! WOOHOO!!!

Hippy Hippy Shake!

Ok, so it's not as exciting as that, but this is the second weekend i've played tennis where my hip has started hurting halfway thru. This weekend I was expecting it though and I took a ton of ibuprofen before I started playing. So it wasn't as bad this time. So that was good. and it's not hurting today like it still was this time last week!!

SO PISSED OFF!!!

Today, it's an "every other" weekend when I would normally take the kid to meet her mom for the weekend. Well, today her mom was in town and called Joe and asked if she could pick her up early from school. So he told her where it was so she could go. So she went, she was nearby. He tried to call the school to tell them that he was authorizing her to pick up Amanda today. We didn't put her mother as an authorized picker-upper since she has NEVER come to amanda's school for Anything, much less to pick her up. He called 3 times and no one answered. So he called Stacie back and she said she was in the office and they were getting her from class! They didn't ID her or anything!!! So a bit later, Joe called the office and asked the secretary why she would release her to just anyone. The secretary said that she would NEVER do that and that she recognized her because she's picked her up before!! NO ONE has EVER picked up that child from that school early before! ONE time i took her in late cuz she had a doctor's appointment. But that's it!! Then the secretary started ARGUING with him saying that he doesn't know what he's talking about, he doesn't know who is picking up his kid and she's come before to pick her up! WELL....even IF that were the case that she's picked her up before, then that STILL means that the VERY FIRST time she picked her up, she wasn't checked!!!! AAARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and then Joe asked to talk to the principal about it. He said that by the way she was talking to him, she didn't seem terribly concerned about the situation. She just said that, Well, she thought she recognized her. And that she'll make sure they ID better from now on. They should be ID'ing everyone in the first place!! From now on!! ARRGG!!! so then joe called stacie again about it and she said that when she picks her other 2 daughters up from day care 5 DAYS A WEEK, from the SAME PERSON, she is ID'D EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!

it's 20 til 5 but i think i'm gonna go home now. i've had it!

Why won't it go away??

For OVER three weeks now I have changed my eating habits quite a bit. I started keeping track of what I eat and the calories and fat and sugar and whatnot. Started eating more veggies during the day for snacks. More veggies with meals. Drinking more water too. Today was my third weigh in and I am the exact same weight as I started! The first 2 weeks I was 2 pounds less than my starting weight. Now I'm back to it. WTF??? It's crap like this that makes me think what the hell am I doing this for? I could go back to eating the way I was eating and maintaining....just like I am now apparently. Pisses me off.

Still sick

I don't know what the hell the deal is. I just can't seem to get over whatever I have. I was so tired yesterday, I went to sleep WAY early...just after 8! Slept all thru the night, up until 5ish this morning when I woke up and just ached all over! My legs, my back, my arms...just dying. And I was so uncomfortable I couldn't go back to sleep. I kinda dozed off here and there, but just couldn't fall totally asleep. I took some dayquil and mucinex this morning. So I don't feel as horrible as I did earlier...but still...not so great. It totally sucks man. This nose thing is bugging the crap out of me too. I have chorus tonight, so i'm probably going to go sit in the corner for it so i don't get my section sick. oooh or in front so i can hear the whole choir! I'll do that!

Apparently it is

I just called the dentist's office and asked them about the night guard situation. Apparently it's not supposed to stop the clenching, just the wear on the teeth from the clenching. And they can't separate the jaw any more because it being unnaturally separated can cause more jaw problems than ever before. So....my symptoms may be slightly diminished but they won't go away....sigh.... what a pain in my neck, literally!

Is it supposed to be like this?

I need to call my dentist. I got my night guard last wednesday. I've been wearing it every night (except for one when I passed out reading). I've still had a couple of headaches. When I first got it, I couldn't bite down on it cuz I gagged when i did. But after a couple of days I got used to it and I can bite down on it. And from what they told me, I'm not supposed to be able to. Or not with much force anyway. It was supposed to separate my teeth enough so that when I did clench down, i wouldn't be able to bite down with much force at all, which would alleviate the strain I'm feeling in my head and neck. So i have to call the dentist and ask about that issue. I have to get some more prescription toothpaste too, so I have to go anyway this week After I get paid.

Weekend

I had a pretty good weekend!

On Saturday, I stayed home while the hubby went to Moriarty to his friend's house to get some more tattoo work done. I've been going with him the previous 4 weeks and I decided to stay home this time so I could get some work done. And avoid the cat stench of their house. Holy crap, they have the raunchiest smelling house I have EVER had the misfortune to step in! When I go, I stay in the tattoo studio with them cuz he keeps the door closed so the animals don't go in there and the smell doesn't get in there either. I don't understand how people live like that!!! It's absolutely disgusting! So it was great staying home.

I did laundry and cleaned and vacuumed and dusted and mopped. Then I hear from hubby. He locked his keys in his truck. They were going to try to find someone to jimmie it open, but never did, so I had to take my key to him to unlock the truck. The kid was going to have a friend of hers over, so I waited til she came over and then we went. Got there, opened the truck, stayed for maybe 10 minutes then came back home. It's maybe 30 miles out there I think. Maybe more, I can never remember. So much for staying home and saving gas too!! Got back home and cleaned up some more and made dinner for the girls. I was on my feet all day long except for the drive. So by the time hubby came home and I was ready to go to bed, my back and feet hurt so bad. Went right to bed. don't you love how amazing your bed feels when you are so pooped and achey??

Sunday, just did one more load of laundry. I stayed in my PJs ALL DAY LONG!! It was GREAT!! bummed around the house....didn't even take a step outside! Joe even took amanda's friend home sunday evening. I did NOTHING! Waahahhahaa!!! I so needed that! It was awesome!

Today is day 9 of the 7-10 business days that it was to take for my night guard to be made and sent. I haven't gotten too bad of headaches in the past week. I did wake up one morning with my neck and upper back killing me though. I'm guessing the back pain was caused by the same thing....it just spread below my neck this time. My neck usually hurts anyway though. Tomorrow is day 10! I don't really want to call and bug since it's still within the window of time they gave. But what if it's there and they just haven't gotten around to calling yet?? That has happened with other places. I've never waited for anything from this place, so I don't know...but it's happened where I'm waiting for something to come in and I'm not getting a call, so I call them and they say oh yeah, we have it, it's been in since yesterday, we just haven't been able to call you yet. Uh yeah. Sure. Sigh....I'm so ready to have it!!

Bastards!

It snowed all of about half an inch....if that...last night. Well, more in certain areas of the city. But where I live, we didn't even get that. So this morning I'm starting to get ready for work and my husband texts and says that the schools are on a 2 hour delay. So I told the kid. Then I turned on the tv to check on things. Of course the City isn't listed. So I called 311 to check. Nope, no delays. Pretty much Everything else was delayed today at Least! The university, schools, businesses, my freaking bank has a delayed day! So I turned off the tv and was thinking about getting ready for work. Then my husband texts again...the schools just announced they are cancelled for the day!!! WTF??? Idiots! Today is even supposed to be over 40! There is no reason for an entire school day to be cancelled for patchy, icy roads! It still pisses me off though that the City apparently doesn't care about hazardous road conditions and the welfare of their employees still trying to get to work at 730 and 8!!!

...and into the fire! And it was by choice! So I'm not complaining about that. Just about teenagers in general I suppose. I don't suppose it's any easier raising a teenager when you've been raising them since birth. But I sometimes think that having done that gives you an advantage as far as knowing your kid and being able to know what the heck to do with them I guess. But then again, there are plenty of parents who have been there the whole time and it's still like dealing with an entirely new person when their kid reaches the "terrible teens"! To quote Bill Cosby, children are brain damaged!! I don't know when they stop being brain damaged, but man, I hope it's soon! Seriously, this kid is bright...but holy crap, she is dumb as a rock sometimes and you think, is this the same kid?? What happened to my honor roll student??? Who is this brain damaged child?

Headaches....

Don't know if I've posted about this before, but I get some awful terrible, migraine-like headaches. I never knew what they were from. So last summer, I changed dentists and went to my first checkup at the new one. One of the first things the dental hygeinist asked me was if I wake up with neck pain and do I get a lot of headaches. I said 'yeeaahhh....why??' She said, 'Because you have a lot of wear on your teeth. You clench and grind your teeth at night.' Really?? So, she said that I can get a night guard from them that will keep my teeth apart so I can't clench my teeth and that my teeth will slide on when they do meet. It was Very expensive so I didn't do it. I got an inexpensive night guard from Walgreens and started wearing it. My headaches went away. For a while. Then they started coming back. So at my next appointment I told them about it. They said, 'Yeah, we used to recommend those ones until we discovered what they do.' The thing that goes in between your teeth that keeps them apart that you bite down on is somewhat soft. It's made out of silicone or something and it has some give. So at FIRST your jaw isn't used to it and it helps and the headaches go away for a while. THEN your jaw gets used to it and it's essentially exercising itself on the squishy bite pads and getting STRONGER! So then your headaches can be Worse than they were before! So great. So I stopped wearing it and I am breaking down and getting the expensive dentist one. I have an appointment at 230 tomorrow afternoon to get the molds done. I don't know how long it takes to come in, but I can't wait! I've been getting headaches every other day or every few days now. Its terrible!! So yay!! I can't wait to not have headaches!

Not Another Teen!

OMG! My stepdaughter is officially a TEEN today!! AAKKK!!! What more can I say?? Just O! M! G!

Maybe it's a tumor...

It's not a tumor. I've been getting these terrible migraine-like headaches that are sensitive to light and sound. Turns out they are tension headaches from clenching and grinding my teeth at night. Last summer my dental hygienist identified the wear on my teeth and ask if I wake up with neck pain and headaches. I was like yeeeaahhhh..... So she told me it's from grinding. She suggested I get a night guard from them that will prevent it. I opted not to at that point since they are SO expensive and for some dumb reason the dental insurance doesnt' cover them! So I got one from Walgreens that has a little thing that goes between your teeth. It worked, the headaches practically stopped. I'd still get little ones, but those were probably just normal run of the mill ones. Nothing like I'd had before. So all was well. Then they started coming again. Just one every now and then. Now I'm back to having a couple or few a week. So at my dentist appt in December I found out that what I'd been doing has made my jaw worse. The little thing between the teeth is slightly squishy. So at first it worked and the headaches went away. But as time went on, my jaw muscles strengthened because they were squeezing the little thing. And they came back. So I stopped wearing it and I'm now thinking I'm just going to break down, bring my credit card out of retirement, and get the damn thing so I don't have to deal with this crap anymore!

And Back Again....

It's been quite some time....again! Being a wife and mom is pretty time consuming! Who knew? HAHA!

Things have been going great. We've gotten some work done on the house and yard that are improvements. The only major problem right now is the roof. It's leaking...sigh...and we need the money to fix it. That's always an issue...money money money. Sheesh. What a pain.

Sweet Death

Death of a Sweet Broom plant that is. it's been almost 2 weeks since we planted them and there is one that is not doing so well. we thought he'd perk up. but he didn't. then he appeared to be only mostly dead and we were hoping he'd have some truly noble reason for hanging on. but apparently not. so now we're going to have to go back to home depot and hope they still have some of those so we can exchange it. although, according to my mother-in-law who apparently frequents home depot, they rotate their stock quite often so chances are we won't find the same plant. in which case, what the hell is the point of them having a 1 year guarantee? well i suppose you could make them order it in couldn't you? we lined them up next to the sidewalk, so we'd either have a big gap where it used to be or have to dig them all up and replace them all. which would be a huge pain in the ass. so yeah, i think i'd make them order it in. good idea. just in case it's not there anyway.

i have 2 rosebushes to plant this weekend that my husband got me the other day. a pink one and a red one. i've never planted roses so i read the directions and they are different. i have to soak the roots in water and build a little mound inside the hole to spread the roots out on. which actually sorta makes sense, but it'll take more work than everything else we've planted so far. and i have some bulbs i need to plant too. i forgot what they are. something with purple flowers and something with orange and white flowers.

and then we have to kill weeds. it's been hard to have the time to spray weed killer stuff cuz it's been so windy. i managed to spray some yesterday when i got home from work cuz it was only a little breezy. but we're going to have to mow them down. now how come in the 2 weeks that our bushes have been planted, the weeds have grown to about 6 times their height and there is no noticable difference in the plants??? some weeds are taller than the little bushes now!! especially around the bushes since they are getting water now.

and we have to work inside the house since it's only about 4 weeks til school is out and the kid moves in! time goes by so fast when there is a deadline! stuff did get moved out of her room last week, so it's getting closer. i still need to get all my crap out of her closet so she can use it. i have shelves in my shed now, so i can move a bunch of stuff out. then i have to paint her room. well, just one wall, so that'll be easy. hahahaha!!!

Here comes the rain again...

And we have boards in the back for our gate getting wet. We just bought them last weekend and hadn't had time to seal them yet. Since for some dumb reason, Lowe's doesn't sell wood that is obviously meant for fences...or gates...or other outdoor use that is treated! How dumb is that? So anyway, it started raining last night and I totally didn't think about it, but then my husband called me this morning cuz he had just realized our wood was outside getting rained on. So I'm going to run home at lunch and bring it into the kitchen to start drying out.

I have returned!

Wow, ever so much has happened since i last wrote. I got married, have a kid (stepdaughter..but still...). Wow! So I got married last month. I'm still working on changing my name on everything. That's been the hardest part. We just had a small ceremony at the courthouse, lunch at Capo's Italian Restaurant and then we went away for the weekend. My mom thought we should have a reception, so she took care of all that and we had it the next weekend. Then my grandma died. She actually had a stroke the day before we got married then passed away exactly 2 weeks later. So that was very hard. Talk about emotional roller coaster! But my husband was such a great comfort to me and really helped me get thru this. I just can't thank him enough!

We've been working on the house and yard to get it ready for the summer when we move his daughter in. we're still going between our house and his mom's house so we didn't have to pull her out of school. Trying to keep up on the weeds so they don't get overgrown like they did last summer. Moving furniture around to make room for the kid in the other bedroom. That's the computer room and junk room right now. so junk needs to come out, computer needs to come out. so all that is going to be out in the living room. i'm getting rid of crap little by little. i've actually hauled off a good deal of stuff. donated some to the thrift store. thrown some away. it's coming along. still have a ways to go....and only two months to get it done til the end of school. oh and the backyard has to be ready for the dogs to come live with us. we have one more gate to build and then i think it's ready. but with all the stickers from last year's weeds, it won't be ready yet. i don't know how we're going to clean them all up. they are probably going to be around for a while. but i guess the dogs will have to live there anyway. oh and we're ordering a bunch of bushes for the backyard, so we need to get the holes dug and all that for them cuz they are bare root and need to be dropped right away when we get them home. so we have a Lot of work ahead of us in the next couple weeks just on the yard itself. blech....

It's Aliiiiivveeee

Yeah, it's been a while. All the stuff with the house and moving and unpacking...and avoiding unpacking...mainly that. i still have so much to do that i so don't feel like doing.

11/27/06 holy crap, i started the above in september! apparently i havent been on here in a while. busy still. with things outside of home mainly. still working on crap at the house. still rearranging and trying to get rid of stuff. now i have an electrical issue that needs to be taken care of and a sinking porch. i was able to get a lot done over the long weekend thanks to my boyfriend. yup, there is a boyfriend. hence the being busy! hahahaa! so he helped a lot this weekend since we were both off. there is still a lot to do, but this weekend jump started things. i really want to get stuff done now. now that he helped me do a couple things that i couldn't do on my own. oh, and i developed bursitis in my left shoulder in august, so i havent' been able to do much lifting or anything. i haven't even played tennis since labor day weekend. so that's another reason i haven't been able to do certain things...cuz i've needed someone to come move something or whatever. so some big things got done so i can start on little stuff that i can handle on my own. i haven't even changed one of my clocks because i have to reach up for it and it's in a weird spot. things are starting to come together a little better now. just needed to get into a groove.

I'm Officially Moved In!!

I have Finally gotten all my crap moved in!! Yesterday I made my last couple of trips to the old house to clean up and move the last few things out. Although I did forget some popsicles in the freezer. Now I just need to get it all arranged in my new place. WOW i have a ton of shit! I'm seriously going to have to go thru everything and get rid of stuff. How did I collect so much crap?!?

Still Moving

Holy crap i'm pooped! I've been moving crap all weekend. AND having to deal with my mom on top of it all. That just makes it all the more tiring cuz it's so draining having to deal with her. BUT she's helping, so i'm tolerating. Like she's all bugged cuz it's taking me so long to move. Yeah, i'm just doing it after work and crap, so yeah, it's not going to be all that quick. I did take a couple days off last week to do stuff. My fuck toy let me borrow his truck when i was off, so that helped considerably. Then I went back to work on friday to rest before the weekend's moving. Now i'm back and work and just sooo tired! At least I have tennis tonight after work so I won't be able to really move much of anything. I can just get some rest tonight. And see how much my mom has moved today! She said she was going to come into town and pack and move crap for me! woohoo!! THAT'S why i tolerate her! HAHA!

...wner. When i was going home from closing I called my mom and said that i just became a homeowner she goes, "HOMO??" So i had to repeat myself. She started cracking up and told my dad that I became a homo as she was cackling to herself. So holy crap! I have a house!! On Sunday me and my mom went running around getting a few things. She got me a screen door and a new faucet for my kitchen. I got some bathroom stuff, a curved shower curtain rod, towel rods and some little accessories that were on clearance! shower curtain, waste basket, toothbrush holder, soap dish. ALL in the color I wanted and those were the only color that was on clearance! The same exact style ones in different colors were regular price! HHAAHA!! So last night I took a few boxes to the house and installed my towel hangers. I had one rod and one ring for a hand towel. i might do my curtain rod tonight. then my bathroom will pretty much be done. i'll just need to move the rest of my bathroom stuff over. It's gonna take me forever to move cuz before I actually got the house, i just wasn't motivated to do anything cuz i didn't have a house yet! But NOW! Yikes! i have a ton of stuff to move!! it's going to be insane! I'm taking a day or two off this week to get crap taken care of. Probably tomorrow and thursday. EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Closing rescheduled

Ok, closing was supposed to have been yesterday. But there was some delay with the paperwork. So now it's scheduled for tomorrow. And i still don't have an amount that i need to take in with me! They are really on the ball with this. Are they usually this retarded?? This is my first experience, so i don't know. But yikes. It's like no one is communicating with each other. They are very on top of it. But oh! I went to do another quick little walk thru on Monday just to check things out cuz it had been raining like mad the past few days and it's a flat roof and has a skylight, so i wanted to see if it leaked. Well, it leaks. The skylight does, not the roof itself. It hasn't rained since Sunday and it doesn't look like it will anytime soon either. So as soon as i take possession i'm going to have someone out there to look at it and get it fixed properly. Cuz I went up on the roof on monday to check it out. The skylight, first of all, has caulking all around it. HA! So naturally that's dried up and peeled away from the skylight. Hence the leak. That's it. I didn't think that was any major deal. And the seller is going to give me more of a repair credit for that. So that's cool. So now the closing is scheduled for 3pm tomorrow. So well see if this one goes thru!

House

And not the one with Hugh Laurie....sigh...oh well. A girl can dream. But anyway, things are progressing nicely with the house I put an offer on last month. Closing is drawing near. I'm beginning to feel twinges of excitement about this. My mom is still more excited about this than I am at this point. It's not mine yet, no reason to be all excited for something that isn't mine. She doesn't understand that. But I said when I get the keys in my hot little hands, THEN it'll be a different story. Just waiting now. Closing should be next week sometime.

Delirious

It was another late night. It was my friend R's birthday party. So I couldn't leave early. That would be rude. HAHAHA!! Of course by the end there were only 4 of us left! So three of them were going out to breakfast and I was pooped and said I was going home. But he asked me to go, so I couldn't disappoint him on his birthday, so I went. We were at Village Inn for over 2 hours! But holy crap we were having a freaking blast!! We were talking about sex and mexicans doing yard work and tv and Neitzche and the theory of warp drives and transporters. It was awesome! I even got in on that last one, and the other girl there just gave me this odd look when i popped into that conversation, cuz it started out just the two boys arguing about some "details" about warp drive and whatnot. And then when I got in, i can't even explain the look she gave me. Probably partly that I actually knew what they were talking about and then partly a don't encourage them look. But I'm really not sure, but it amused me. So there were three of us arguing about warp! It was hilarious! So when we finally left the building, we were out front for a while talking still. Then D had to go back in to go to the bathroom and R says something about how she's a great lady, she's really nice, but she needs to have her fucking head examined. I died laughing! But it's so true! HAHA!! So we hung out a bit longer up there then finally left. It was just about 4 when I got home. So I only got about 3 hours of sleep so I'm completely out of it! Although it's no different than normal these days!!

My First Time...

It was GREAT!! It was with three guys and they were very patient with me. I had some idea how it's done since I've been watching a lot. So that helped. They gave me tips and suggestions. They took a lot themselves, I don't know why. Many times I was there and in place and ready for it, but one of the other guys would jump in my way and take it instead. You'd think that since I was new that I should take as much that came my way as I could to get used to it. I did take a good number of them and most of the time did what I needed to do with it. It was a lot more work than I thought it would be. Which isn't a bad thing. But it was still a total blast and I'm definitely going to be doing it more now that I got my first time over with!! And the guys did say they'd do it with me again!! I can't wait!!

Weekend

I'm finally getting over being sick. I bummed around Saturday with JoAnne. We went to the pool and i got a bit more tanned. And a tad burned on my back. I got a new bikini so I wore that. And like an idiot, I actually tried swimming in it. Boobies everywhere!!! I wonder how many little boys were underwater with their goggles. Or how many daddies? HAHAHAHA!! But it was fun. The water felt SO good! And just lounging around was great. Then we went to lunch and just sat and talked. There at the club, so we were still in our suits. It was great! Saturday night I ended up going to the bar (go figure) and had a great time. I actually sang karaoke again!! T & I discovered that we're both pathetic. Long ol story. But it has to do with boys. So that's another thing me & my sis can bond about. Oh crap, have I mentioned that? There are like 5 different people now who think we are sisters! It's rather amusing. We stopped denying it and just roll with it. Like this one guy always asks one or the other of us, if we are alone, so where is your sister? so we just answer now instead of trying to argue with him. so that's just become another one of our running jokes. so oh, on sunday i had to work the track & field event. starting at 7am. last year we were done about 2pm. this year we didn't leave til 5:30. that's a damn long day in the heat. and i wasn't even on the field! i was just doing check in and selling shirts and stuff!! so the people who were working the actual events were completely miserable. i think we had a record heat day. or pretty damn near. yesterday was a record heat day, i know that. so when i got home i changed into my bikini and turned on my sprinkler in the backyard and ran thru it and got nice and wet. sat in my lawn chair reading for a bit...til i fell asleep. slept about an hour then went inside and got in bed and crashed out. i slept a good 11 hours. it was great!

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend is always a helluva weekend. We have the NM Games basketball tournament that runs from Friday thru Monday. And I have to work ALL of it. Starting my regular day on friday at 8. Then we went to Johnson gym at about 2:30 I think to start setting up. I started check in at 4:30 for the first game at 5:30. Last game was at 9:30. So after the last game and cleaning up and whatnot we left at 11. Then Saturday had to be there at 6:45 to start check in at 7 for 8am games. Last game was at 9pm. Cleaned up and left at 10:30. Now, instead of doing the responsible thing and going home and sleeping, I decided I'd go to Sneakerz for a "quick" drink. HAHAHAHAA!!! What a maroon!! So I went, had a drink, chatted with folks then started to leave and said bye to everyone. But then i HAD to stay to listen to so-and-so sing...then someone else...then someone else.... then i had to say bye again. HAHA! left my glasses then came back to get them. Then someone snagged my ID from my pocket. So spent quite a while trying to retrieve that. Finally gave up and started to leave, then Dee came running out saying she found it. So I was out WAY longer than I intended to be. Got to sleep about 1am i think. Had to be at the gym again at 6:45. Again the last game was at 9. Left at 1030 again. Then monday, 6:45, BUT this was semi-final and finals day, so the last game was at 1 i think. So afterwards we had to clean up AND tear down and pack up. We were done about 3. Got invited to a BBQ/Pool Party afterwards. So of course i went. Had a couple of drinks and jumped in the pool. Ahh....it felt good!! Then went inside and munched then flopped on the couch and nearly dozed off. Then i decided it was best to get going home before i totally passed out cuz who knows how long i'd be unconscious. So got home and passed out for ELEVEN HOURS!!! HAHAAHAA!! And i'm SURE i could have slept more!! Damn work!! So I ended up going home early Tuesday. That was nice. Went home and relaxed. Took a fun little pain killer a friend of mine gave me and it totally killed my pain in my chest and back from coughing and even that little thing in my throat that was making me cough. It was beautiful. Went to sleep early again. Slept like a rock again, still could have slept more. It hasn't gotten better so I have a dr. appt today. I hope I get some good drugs.

And then I had a great birthday lunch at Le Cafe Miche with my good friend Joanne. I'd never been there before and never would have thought of it. I had no clue what it was or where it was and that it was so close to my work. So we met there and had a seafoody lunch. Crabcake appetizer and seafood crepes and I forgot what it was called but a little pot of creamy cheesey garlicky scallops. It was sooo good! I was so stuffed!! It was great!

The Big Three-Oh

My thirtieth birthday has been off to a tremendous start! I started partying yesterday going to a friend's party right after work hanging out, drinking margaritas and having fun. Then headed to the bar and hung out with good friends and had a grand ol time. They even got me to sing karaoke! HAHA!! Started the birthday festivities a day early and I really had a super time. All the way to this morning. Had a great conversation with a good friend last night. Got to work and saw Alb. fire & rescue and AA scraping up people from the freeway right in front of my office. I always love carnage...blood and gore and guts....then when i finished gawking i came inside and my friend here decorated the hell out of my desk! It was great! I'm wearing birthday streamer in my hair as a headband. Streamers are all above me, balloons and a bendy flower and i got cupcakes and she got me a Titanium SPORK!!!! I have a thing for sporks...and she found me a REAL SPORK!! So when we ate cupcakes, i ate it with my new spork! HAHA!! I know, I'm a dork, but WHO CARES?!?!! It's my BIRTHDAY!! I can be as dorky as I wanna be today!!! Not that it ever stops me any other time. hehe!!

Violated

Yesterday I got home from work at about 5:15. Noticed a couple things looked a little odd. Then noticed something else looked more than odd. My kitchen window was broken out. Broken glass all over. A bunch of change got taken. About $200 worth. Including about $100 worth of $1 coins in a little phone box that a friend brought me from England. My PlayStation2 and PS2 games. That's it. Oh, well and a nylon duffle bag to haul my stuff away in. So at least that's ALL that got taken. It could have been much more. But still!! I feel terribly violated!! And all the hassle this causes. And now I need to get another PS2. And then find all those games again that I had. A few of them won't be hard to find. But a few others I had a hard time finding in the first place and had to keep looking and looking. So that'll be annoying. Don't know when I'm going to get another one. I'm housesitting this week. Maybe I can set that money aside to get a new PS2. And two of those games I just got in the past week cuz I finally found them!!! That's really damn annoying. So after the investigator was finished, he showed me that he pulled 4 good prints off of the window frame where he came in. So that was exciting. So I called a friend of mine to come over and stay the night with me. So that was good. He helped me relax. My three glasses of wine and no food since lunch helped too. Had a good night. Definitely not all paranoid and freaked out if I would have just stayed by myself.

Business as Usual

On Tuesday afternoon last week, we were informed at work that we had to pack up the entire place by Friday for the movers to come first thing Saturday morning to move. We knew we were going to be moving sometime. But no one would ever tell us when. So this is how we find out. With three days notice. Nice. So the week was just nuts. Plus our whatever the hell he's called, department head or something, gave us this assignment that needed to be done TODAY (i think that was on Thursday) and he needed it by noon. So one of my co-workers was trying to relay the fact that we had a mere two days left to pack up our ENTIRE place and we'd get to it IF we could. Well no, he wouldn't have that. This is a priority. The city council needed it NOW for some dumb ass reason. And he told us that we should put everything else aside and do that because we should be operating "business as usual." Bull Crap!! goddamm! so then our direct supervisor called our head's supervisor and talked to him about this and tried to explain the situation to him. Turns out that our head was sitting on this project for about a week and just gave it to us on the day he needed to turn it back in. AND that we didn't need all that info that our head said he needed from us. It actually turned out to be a fairly easy assignment, but holy crap!! our head is one big idiot. Total pointy haired boss. So our stuff got moved this weekend. Mostly. Cuz the building we are supposed to be going into isn't ready yet. So we're going to be transplanted into one of the other division's offices until it is ready. My coworker and I will have to share an office AND ONE PHONE. NO internet. So our desks and computers aren't actually moving until tomorrow since we have to do that ourselves. At least our bill for the moving company won't be as much since they aren't going to be moving all that they thought they were going to. But eeegads, this is totally going to suck. I mean, me and A are good friends and all, but sharing an office is a Totally different story! HAHAHA!!!

Well, work is getting busier, so that's one good thing. I got my six month evaluation done yesterday. 7.5 months after i was hired in this position. So I believe I should have some backpay coming for a raise that i should have gotten Feb 6! That'll be cool!! That will help contribute to the home buying cause!!

I went to see the loan lady with my dad on Wednesday so he could help understand and ask questions. She was such a flake. I told her I wanted a $100k loan. So she started saying stuff about with a 5% down then it'll be a $95k loan and blah blah blah and i'm like what? What happened to the $100k? I have to make a downpayment on my loan in addition to the down payment on the house?? So she was all oh, that's why you told me you wanted a $100k loan. Duhhh. (she said that, she said duhh. very professional. i feel like i'm in very capable hands!) what a fruit cake. So anyway, we arrived at the heart of the matter. Got a great interest rate on it too. so we're going with that. now i just need to find a house!! I have an appointment with a real estate agent on saturday. So let the games begin!!

No go

Well, my mom called me last night about the house I was looking at. The lady who owns it called her for some dumbass reason and not me. Said that they got an offer for more money and they are closing next week. So oh well. But one good thing about it is that she kinda freaked out when an inspection was mentioned. Asking why I need one and that the house is fine and there's no reason to get one. So that was fishy. And then my mom said that she also said that she's still thinking about selling. But if they are closing next week it doesn't seem like there's much to think about is there? So that situation turned out weird and perhaps it's for the best that I didn't get that. Although if she was weirded out about an inspection maybe I would have found out something even before I bought it anyway. So back to the beat. Got to wander around again looking for homes that are way overpriced for the little pieces of crap that they are and try to find another one that I can live with.

I've been considering buying a house for a while now. But since I have a real full time job now, it's much more of a possibility. So I've been looking around some lately. My mother has also been helping me look since she works fewer hours than I do, so she wanders around looking for homes for sale in areas I like. She did find one over the weekend that is priced ridiculously low for it's size and location. it is missing a couple of things that I was specifically looking for. but those things i can't get for the price i can afford. it does need some fixing up. but just from what i could tell going around the place, most everything it needs done is cosmetic. so that's not a problem. i can take my time taking care of those things. As long as they are not necessary repairs, it doesn't matter and it's a freaking steal. now, i'm a little scared that my mom picked a house for me that i like. so either i was very clear about what i wanted or else we have similar tastes. that is very much the scary part. cuz my mother is a freaking weirdo. but this house just seems so totally great for me!! it's about the size i want. a little smaller actually, but quite a bit bigger than the other houses in my price range! so i gotta go with what i'm able to get. so that's a definite plus. just over 1300 sqft. and it's just me and my junk. and i have a ton of junk. i have a 2br house filled up right now. so spreading it out in a 3br will be nice. i think i really like that house cuz i've already started planning in my mind where i'm going to put things!!! and it has sooo many of the things that i DO want in a house, so those few that it doesn't, i can do without. and besides, those things can be fixed anyway so i do have them! so HA! I just called the lady and told her i'm interested and would like to see a purchase agreement and get things going!! WOOHOOO!!!

Oooooohhhhhh my goodness!!

Joanne reminded me of something that happened on that last day in Vegas. We were walking down the street and I was off in la-la land somewhere. This guy walking towards us was apparently staring directly at my tits and as we are approaching and passed he goes "Ooooooooooohhhhhhhh my goodness!!!" not at all quietly and Joanne just started dying and I had no idea what was wrong with her. Then she told me. I guess I noticed him looking in my general direction but didn't notice what particulars he was looking at. It happens a lot, so I guess I'm used to it and don't pay much attention. But it amused J highly, so that was worth it all.

We're not buying any more drinks unless they are free!

OMG!! Vegas was GREAT!!! We had so much fun!! We walked a TON. When we ate at the buffets on saturday and sunday, we ate a TON! And when I got home I weighed myself and was 4lbs lighter than the last time I weighed myself on Thursday or Friday! HAHAA! We also went dancing Saturday night at this club at the Rio. The Voodoo Lounge I think it was called. Up on the roof. It was so cool!! Weird little guys kept coming up to hump my leg, but other than that, it was great! And the fact that my feet were absolutely dying at the end of the night and my toes were numb. My second toe on my left foot is still kinda numb. So that's not good I'm sure. But on Friday when Joanne was all buzzed and goofy, she came to a conclusion about purchasing our alcohol for the weekend. She said, and i quote, "We're not buying any more drinks unless they are free!" So that became our motto for the weekend! Man, she was a blast! She's such a goofball! I had so much fun with her. We definitely need to do that again!!!

Still going!!

I woke up at 5am this morning feeling absolutely terrible. My throat was killing me and it hurt so bad! So I ate a popsicle. I discovered popsicles don't last indefinitely in the freezer even thought they are individually wrapped. But it was cold and that felt good. Then i had some rainbow sherbert. Then looked up the location of the nearest urgent care and called to see when they are open. I went back to bed for an hour or so. Got up, showered and headed to urgent care. They did the strep swab and all that. But I don't have strep. Just some generic viral infection. The doc gave me some anti-virals which she said don't usually work, but you never know. I said I'd like something since I'm going to Vegas tomorrow!!! So she suggested that i drink as much of whatever I like to make me feel better! HAHA!! I like her!! And to win some money in Vegas cuz that'll help too! HAHA! she gave me somt 800mg ibuprofen for the swelling of the tonsils and the lymph nodes. That has helped i'm thinking. Two of my nodes that were swollen and hurting are much better now. One of them I can't even feel anymore. So no worries, i am still going to Vegas. Like i said before no matter what!! I did all sorts of laundry last night, so all I have to do tonight is pack!! And I'm ready to go!!!

Vegas - No matter what!

I've got a bit of a cold right now. When it started out a couple days ago, I thought it was just allergies and i took an allergy pill and it didn't really do much. So this morning I tried some day quil. That seemed to work quite nicely. So I'm dosing up to try to get rid of it before me and Joanne go to Vegas on Friday!!! I'm so excited!! I haven't really been anywhere in a couple of years. It's very sad. And I haven't been to Vegas in about 5 years! Although I guess I should count visiting my best friend in Colorado Springs as going somewhere. But that doesn't seem like much of a vacation cuz I drive there and that's damn hard. I've started getting ready to go. Did some laundry and cleared out my travel bag from when I last used it for housesitting. It's a tad before 10 and I'm thinking I better get my butt to bed so I can rest up and try to get healthy by Friday afternoon!!

Just a dream....phew....

I had the most horrible dream! I was with a friend of mine and we were out at some store and I was supposed to be meeting JoAnne at the airport for our 3:55pm flight to Las Vegas. So when I looked at the clock it was 3:44!! And I didn't have a car! So I started walking down the block and was going to try to hitch to the airport. So I see this guy in a tricked out El Camino and I told him, Look, I don't know where you are headed, but I Really need to get to the airport! and he said sure, no problem. And then I woke up. But it was terrible!! I felt so bad! JoAnne was waiting for me and I couldn't get a hold of her on her cell phone and I was going to miss the flight. I didn't have my luggage with me, so I don't know what the heck was happening with that! That was pretty scary. I don't want anything to happen that will prevent me from going to Vegas next week!!

In a groove

I'm finally in a cleaning groove. I've been dying to get my house cleaned and i kind of do a bit here and there, but nothing that really makes it look like i did anything. so now i'm just on a total roll with throwing crap away and making room. i don't have much storage space in my house and i have a lot of shit, and the two just don't mix. i was just on a break having a little bite to eat and thought i'd get some junk out of my head.

me & my friend joanne are going to vegas in a couple of weeks and i'm soooo freaking excited! i haven't been on a vacation, even a little weekend getaway in quite a while. this is going to be great!

i swear i had more stuff to talk about but now i absolutely don't remember. hmm....no clue. better get my butt back to cleaning before it gets too used to sitting down tonight!!

Babies...Better you than me

Last night my best friend called and left a message saying she is driving down to visit. She knew that I would know exactly what that meant: her little sister is ready to have her second baby. She wasn't able to get down here the first time for the actual birth. But this time she decided she is coming down no matter what to see it. Since she is never going to have a kid unless there is an oops. And she figures that a birth is something you have to see at least once in your life in person. I'm never going to have one either, so her sister is the only chance. Maybe I'll get to witness the birth of her third child. I so don't get it. The desire to have kids. I do not have that at all whatsoever, nothing, nada, zero, zilch. Oh well. I certainly don't feel like I'm missing anything. I guess I will when I'm old and wrinkley and I need someone to drive me to get my Depends and my pills.
